More than 200,000 cubic yards of fill were brought to the Park site from a downtown construction project to raise the ground level far above the existing train tracks that bisected it. These sculptural concrete slabs topped with the aspens of the Grove section of the Park support the embankment that is the wall of the train track right-of-way (tracks run just below the bottom edge of the frame). Passing overhead is the sky bridge that connects the two portions of the Park -- city side and water side -- including the glass wall of Teresita Fernåndez's, "Seattle Cloud Cover" casting its silhouette on the embankment as the late afternoon sun passes through . Nowhere is the intended meeting of plants, sky, and art more obvious. SAM's Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle, WA.
