In the fireplace room of this new contemporary home built in a clean, traditional Shaker style, cherry paneling surrounds the masonry fireplace capped with an 800 pound granite lintel. On the wall opposite the fireplace, French doors and traditional six over six double hung windows flood the room with natural light, even on gray Northwest winter afternoons. The homeowner is a cabinetmaker with a Master's degree in art who designed the house and crafted all of the cabinetry, built-ins, and most other woodwork himself.
