Aerial view looking north at Seattle's Olympic Sculpture Park. Richard Serra's 'Wake' is the 5-piece sculpture at top right, Alexander Calder's 'Eagle' is the large bright red piece in the top left, and Tony Smith's 'Stinger' is the dark square shape visible near the bottom. Elliott Avenue, a major thoroughfare, runs underneath the park as native summer wildflowers bloom in the meadow area overhead. The BNSF railroad train tracks that supply the Port of Seattle were another major obstacle to work around. More than 200,000 yards of fill were added to raise the site of the park above the existing thoroughfares.
