'Vivax' bamboo, Phyllostachys vivax, is a fast grower to roughly 70' high and 5" diameter in a prime location, but its wood is weak and brittle. Seen here contained by a barrier trench topped with decorative stone, Vivax bamboo quickly towers over the ground and fills in otherwise undesirable space.
