Tall-growing Rubro bambooo, Phyllostachys rubromarginata, can reach 55' tall in its native habitat, with each culm, or stalk, reaching nearly 3" in diameter. Rubro bamboo is noted for the quality of its wood, as evidenced here by the ladder made from its stalks, and its shoots are edible and tender.
