In the entry hall, a straight-ahead sixteen stair flight leads to the second story, cherry treads, risers, ballusters, and wainscotting beautifully finish the staircase, and a newell post turned at a local mill from local fir, all add to the sense of geomoetry, order, and calm of this new contemporary home built in a clean, traditional Shaker style. The homeowner is a cabinetmaker with a Master's degree in art who designed the house and crafted all of the cabinetry, built-ins, and most other woodwork himself. The pottery jugs and crocks on the hall table are his work as well.
