An eight foot bamboo ladder stands dwarfed amid a tall-growing forest of Rubro bambooo, Phyllostachys rubromarginata. Rubro can reach 55' tall in its native habitat, with each culm, or stalk, reaching nearly 3" in diameter. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, prefers full sun, and is drought tolerant when established. Rubro bamboo is noted for the quality of its wood, and its shoots are edible and tender.
